Dr Welch and Dr Dore-Green are approved trainers for GP Registrars and GPs in training. We regularly welcome such doctors who join us to complete their GP training in blocks of six or twelve months. Our GPs in training are fully qualified doctors and you may be offered an appointment with our current trainee if applicable.

Medical Students

The practice also regularly welcomes 4th year medical students from the University of Bristol. They join us for four weeks under the supervision in order to learn more about general practice and medical care in the community (as opposed to the hospital).

You may be asked if you mind a student sitting in during your consultation or if you would mind consulting with the student prior to seeing your doctor. Both of these provide the students with valuable learning experience (and keeps your doctor on their toes!) We will inform you when you arrive at the surgery if a student will be present during your consultation. Please let us know if you would prefer this not to happen, this will not affect any care you receive.

We occasionally sometimes welcome other students such as nursing or paramedics again you will be informed if this is the case when you arrive at the surgery. Thank you for your help in training the doctors and nurses of the future.
