The Government have announced that they would like to extend the Covid booster programme to all over 18 year olds and to reduce the time between the 2nd dose and the booster to a minimum 3 months.
We are aware of these changes and we will continue to work our way through the cohorts in order (of age and most vulnerable), as we did last time. You do NOT need to contact the surgery to say you are now due, we know and we will get to you as soon as we can.
At present we are focusing on the over 40’s that had their 2nd vaccine 5-6 months ago (and 2nd doses for those age 16+). Once these people have been vaccinated we can start moving down to the younger patients that require boosters and those within the 3 month age bracket.
We ask for your patience and understanding at this time as we continue to run these clinics on top of our usual winter workload, with many staff giving up their days off to allow these vaccination clinics to continue to run on a regular basis.
Don’t forget that if you wish to have your booster done before we are able to accommodate you at the surgery, then you do have the option to attend either of the main vaccination sites in Cheltenham or Malvern once you have received an invitation from NHS England.
Can we also remind patients, on the day of your appointment please wear your mask and be prompt with the time slot you have been allocated. Patients arriving early for their appointments can cause long queues outside the building.
