LATEST INFORMATION ABOUT GROUP TIMELINES FOR VACCINATIONS
We are aware that the situation regarding imminent eligibility of patients with asthma has been constantly changing due to Government guidelines.
The latest guidelines are now that, as a rule, those patients with the condition will not be on the list ahead of their peers unless they are formally shielding, regularly take steroid tablets or have ever had a related emergency hospital admission.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) are still prioritising patients with old age as this is deemed the single biggest factor determining mortality due to COVID-19.
Patients with asthma will, in any case, receive their vaccination in the very near future as we continue to move through the Cohorts extremely quickly.
Booking processes are continually being updated enabling patients to book their own COVID vaccination appointments following text invitations. Those patients without this facility are still being invited as previously by telephone or letter.
