Our flu vaccination clinics have been more challenging than ever this year with the addition of Covid 19 restrictions. We have also had the added complication of ever changing Government Guidelines and limited availability of vaccine for under 65 year olds.
But we are pleased to say that our new ‘socially distanced’ clinics have been a great success so far and over 2500 patients have already passed safely though our doors for their flu vaccination.
Over 65 year olds
We will continue to vaccinate over 65 year olds that are pre-booked in to our flu clinics on Mondays and Thursdays throughout October.
Under 65 year olds with a long term medical condition
Our stocks of vaccine for under 65’s with a long term health condition are being delivered at regular intervals, but in smaller quantities than usual. This has meant rescheduling some appointments and those patients affected have been contacted by the practice.
We will of course be prioritising those that are most clinically vulnerable with the vaccine that we have available.
50-64 year olds who DO NOT have a long term medical condition
Those patients aged 50-64 who DO NOT have a long term health condition are being asked to wait until the end of November before contacting the surgery for their flu jabs, as the vaccine for this particular group is not due at the surgery until then.
