Understanding how to access medical services during the Covid-19 Pandemic at Mythe Medical Practice

WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT OUR PATIENTS THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME

GP & Nurse Appointments

  • The surgery’s opening hours have not changed. 8.00am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday
  • All GP services are now accessed via telephone triage in the first instance; so please call the surgery on 01684 293278. DO NOT come to the surgery unless advised to do so by a Doctor or Nurse at the surgery
  • The majority of appointments are being carried out over the telephone or via video consultation through a mobile. Anyone that does need to come in to the surgery for treatment will be advised of this by the triage Doctor/Nurse. They will ask you some questions to establish that you do not have any Covid-19 symptoms before booking you an appointment
  • On arrival at the surgery you will be met by a member of staff on the door who will advise where you need to go – please use social distancing measures when in and around the building
  • If you require a prescription following your consultation it will be electronically sent to your nominated pharmacy. If you do not currently have a nominated pharmacy please advise the doctor

Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

  • You can order your regular repeat prescriptions via the ‘Prescriptions & Medicines’ section on the website – you do not need login details to access this system so any of our patients can use it
  • If you normally delivery us a hand written prescription request then please pop it in the white letterbox marked Mythe Medical Practice which is located on the wall to the right of Lloyds Pharmacy
  • Due to a higher than normal demand at both the surgery and the Pharmacy please allow 3 working days for your prescription to be ready
  • Please DO NOT order early and Do NOT order extra as this will leave shortages within the system

Accessing Minor Injuries and Out of Hours Services

  • Tewkesbury Minor Injuries Unit is now temporarily closed to allow vital resources to be redeployed within the County to assist with critical care
  • The Minor Injury Units in Malvern, Stroud and Cirencester remain open 8.00am – 6.00pm seven days a week
  • Those patients without transport can still access medical advice, and treatment if required, for a minor injury via the surgery. Please go through the telephone triage process first and DO NOT come to the surgery unless advised to
  • Out of hours services, for when the surgery is closed, are continuing to run as normal and can be accessed by calling 111
